An armature plate assembly for a magnetic door lock
An armature plate assembly 1 for a magnetic door lock has a plate portion 2 that hasa flat front face 3 and which is formed from a material capable of being electromagnetically attracted i.e. a ferrous material. The plate has an aperture 4 extending from the front face 3 through to the rear of the plate 2. The plate assembly also comprises a spring means 5 mounted to the rear of the plate portion 2 to provide a reaction force towards the front face 3 when the spring means 5 is engaged. The plate aperture 4 allows the plate assembly 1 to be mounted to a door or door frame in use, and the spring means 5 when compressed provides a reaction force against the plate portion 2 which assists the plate assembly 1 to self-level and assists in keeping or moving the plate assembly 1 to a position where the greatest possible engagement area will be presented to a corresponding electromagnetic plate.
