A method of forming a sheet pile wall 100 comprising taking a plurality of Z shaped or U shaped steel piles. The Z pile 2 having two flanges 6 and a web 5, the U pile having two webs and a flange. The method involving reforming the piles so as to change the geometry between the web and flange. The reformed steel piles are connected to form a sheet pile wall. The wall having at least one engagement section which, when viewed in a cross section, has a recess that has a narrowed neck portion. The piles may be reformed to that an angle between a web and flange is less than 90 degrees, the piles may be reformed so that there is a bend 35 in the web (32, figure 5b). Another invention relates to a sheet pile which includes a Z shaped pile wherein the angle between a web and flange is less than 90 degrees.
