A window assembly includes a base frame 10 having two or more slots (72, fig 13) therein along one side of the frame. The assembly further includes a casement frame 20 having two or more slots (78, fig 14) therein along one side of the frame. The casement frame is arranged to be mounted to the base frame by two or more hinges (12, fig 1), each including a keyed base hinge member 13 located in a slot of the base frame and a keyed casement hinge member 15 located in a slot of the casement frame. The hinge members are coupled together by a hinge pin such that the casement is pivotable outwardly relative to the base. An equivalent method of manufacture is also provided. In other aspects, a window is provided with a casement frame perimeter wall and ledge, or alternatively with a seal member having flexible ribs.
