A seat comprises an enclosure for securing an infant by the legs and around the chest area, a waste opening at the base of the seat and means to suck the unfastened nappy from the infant through an opening at the base of the seat, through a waste pipeline and into a tank containing a partial vacuum. The seat further comprises a ring of shower jets for spraying and cleansing the infant and means for circulating warm air in the seat for drying the infant. An access hatch allows removal of soiled nappies from the tank.
