The trackway bag comprises: a base 102 and two opposing retainers 104 positioned along opposing sides of the base. The bag has a loaded transport configuration and an in use configuration. In the transport configuration the bag can be lifted with some loose material, such as aggregate, for transporting the loose material. In the in use configuration the base and opposing retainers form an open channel for retaining the loose material upon which a vehicle can be driven on. Several trackways can be connected together to form a series of trackway bags. Also claimed is a trackway link for coupling two trackway bags. The link comprises two connector arms each arm including a connector for connecting to respective trackway bags and a pivot between the two connectors. Also claimed is a connector for connecting a trackway link to a trackway bag the connector includes at least two gripping members which are linked via a resilient member.
