Sash hardware locating system and method
A sash hardware locating system for use on a pre-formed sash frame with a recessed channel along the outer side edges of the frame, the system having an L-shaped corner guide 11 for fitting into the recess 51b, an end cap 20 for fitting over the guide within the recess, and at least one aperture in at least one arm of the guide (12, fig 2) for receiving at least one screw 70 to fix the system to the frame. The end cap may be L-shaped and may cover the entire of the corner guide. One arm of the corner guide and end cap may include semi-cylindrical channels to create a bore to receive a shootbolt. The guide and cap may also have corresponding grooves or indents (16a & 16b, fig 2) and ribs or projections (26a & 26b, fig 2) to interlock and align the guide and cap.
