A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
A building provided with an interior module spaced inwardly from the walls of the building, the interior module including household appliances and services such as baths 24, WCs 26, toilets, basins, sinks 12, cookers 10, ovens, stairs 18, washing machines, tumble driers 22, beds 30, 32 and the like, which may be movable between a storage and an in use condition. The interior module may comprise doors 38 which can be closed to define a room in which appropriate appliances and services can be used. The rooms may be bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms and the like. The building may have multiple storeys 2, 4 wherein the interior module allows services and supplies 20 to pass between the storeys. The interior module may include structural elements 8 of the building. The invention allows the interior space to be more easily adapted and to increase the utilisation of the available space whilst allowing a higher number of the buildings to be provided in the available space in comparison to conventional housing configurations.
