Stiffening assembly
A stiffening assembly 10 for an article 12 comprises a plurality of modules 14. Each module comprises a body 16 and a receiving formation 28 for receiving a portion of the article. The article may be a rod for suspending lighting equipment, with the modules providing stiffness to prevent movement in the event of an earthquake. The body may define an internal space for receiving the article, and the receiving formation and the internal space may be elongate. The modules may be secured to the article by projections, and the modules may be joined together by male and female fastening 24, 26 formations. Adjacent modules may be disposed in an unaligned relationship. Also claimed is a stiffening assembly that comprises a plurality of modules, with adjacent modules disposed relative to each other at an angle of between 1º and 24º.
