Lock cylinder mechanism capable of preventing violent damage
Cylinder lock comprising left and right rotatable cylinder shafts 4, 5 in bodies 1, 2 connected by rod 3; each cylinder having an axially slidable and rotatable transmission member 7, 8 with cylinder joint end 10 and cam end 9a for rotating cylinder cam 6; each transmission block biased by spring 11 with a third spring 12 between the transmission members. The left transmission member 7 which may be positioned on the exterior side of a door includes a pivotal blocking member 9b hingedly mounted at 17, 18 and normally located within a sleeve 14 located within left side of hollow cam 6. During normal operation the blocking member is retained within the sleeve during axial movement to engage and disengage with cam 6. If the left, e.g. exterior side, cylinder is snapped off then transmission member 7 is pushed left releasing blocking member 9b from the sleeve which pivots under gravity and abuts a lip of sleeve and no can no longer engage to drive cam 6 preventing exterior manipulation (fig.5).
