Foundation assembly
A foundation assembly 10 for a meteorological instrument comprising upper mounting sub-assembly 12 and at least three lower foundation subassemblies, each of the lower sub-assemblies 14 connected to the upper assembly, each lower foundation sub-assembly comprises a footing 22 to be set in the ground and an elongate tie rod 20 that extend upwards from the footing towards the upper sub-assembly, the upper foundation sub-assembly comprises a base support, the foundation assembly further comprises, on at least two of the lower foundation sub-assemblies, a levelling adjustment mechanism 24 & 124 for adjusting the distance between the base support and the corresponding footing such that, in use, the tilt of the base support with respect to a horizontal plane can be adjusted to accommodate variations in the depth of the footings set in the ground. A kit of parts including a template and a method of installation are also claimed.
