A car roof tent comprises a base (1), a tent frame rod (2) capable of being unfolded or folded, a hard top cover (3) and a ladder (6). The tent frame rod (2) is fixed on the base (1); the top cover (3) is pivotally connected with the tent frame rod (2), and the top cover (3) is in linkage with the tent frame rod (2) and covers the tent after the tent frame rod (2) is folded; the top end of the ladder (6) is pivotally connected with one side edge of the base (1) and is arranged above the top cover (3) after the ladder is turned upwards. The hard top cover (3) is used, the ladder (6) is connected with the tent base (1), and the top cover (3) and the ladder (6) can be operated along with the tent frame rod (2), so that the car roof tent is simple to operate and convenient to use.
