A fluid device fixing apparatus 2 allows the fixing of a fluid device to a surface and/or fluid conduit. The apparatus 2 includes mounting means 4 comprising at least one fluid connection means or integral member 24, 24. A cutting location means 48 is provided on an external surface of the fluid connection means or integral member 24, 24. There may be a plurality of cutting location means 48 spaced apart along a length of the fluid connection means or integral members 24, 24, and perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the fluid connection means or integral members 24, 24. The cutting locations 48 may be circumferential grooves or slots. A spacer element such as a collar (64, Fig. 2a) may be used to mark the point where the fluid connection means or integral members 24, 24 needs to be cut. The mounting means 4 may comprise a plate having slots 18 to allow the mounting means 4 to be attached to a wall or surface. The apparatus is particularly suitable for fitting to a shower control valve. A method of using the apparatus is also claimed.
