The arrestor member may be a rope, wire rope or cable for stopping or halting a vehicle. The mountings may allow the movement of the arrestor member between initial and impact conditions, potentially via pivoting. The apparatus may include front, side and rear walls. The walls may include bracing members which are curved in an arc.
