A tubular fixing device (1) known as a security or ground anchor, with fastening means 5, for affixing to a surface such as a wall or floor. The fixtures are placed and removed via aligned holes (2, 3) on the upper and lower walls of the device. When secured, the head of the fixing means is located within the tube of the anchor. A harness 4 or chain or similar is passed through the tubular section to secure an object to prevent theft. When the harness is in position, the fastening means become inaccessible and the security anchor cannot be removed.
