The motor and nut may move reciprocally relative to the shaft when the motor rotates the nut on the shaft. The door hanger may be coupled to the motor via a coupling member 26. The nut and motor may be coaxial to the shaft. The motor may incorporate the nut. The mechanism may be used in a door opening-closing apparatus suitable for use with a vehicle, preferably a rail vehicle.
