A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
A lock comprising first and second hollow casings 3, 5, with a plurality of elongate axial slots 13, 15. A plurality of annular locking elements 9 with radially protruding elements 11 which in a locked configuration protruding elements 11 extend into both slots 13, 15 of first and second casings preventing rotation. Insertion of key disengages locking elements 9 from the first casing allowing rotation of second casing. Preferably locking elements 9 are biased, e.g. compression or leaf spring, into locked configuration. The locking elements 9 may be orientated at different angular positions to alter the locking combination. A key trapping plate 31 with wedge shape slot 33 through which the end of the key extends may retain the key when rotated in the unlocked position. Independent claims also directed to a key and lock wherein the key has a driving portion axially spaced from its coded bitted portion and configured to drive a portion of the lock. The driving portion may be wedge shaped engaging a wedge slot in an end plate 29.
