Decontamination unit
A decontamination unit 100 for the removal of particulate contaminants from the skin of a user comprises a shower chamber having a floor, a ceiling 180 and at least one side wall. The at least one side wall comprises entry and exit apertures. The decontamination unit further comprises at least one shower 170 mounted on an interior surface of the shower chamber, and at least one inlet fan 400 and at least one exhaust fan. The inlet and exhaust fans provide a flow of air through the interior of the shower chamber via inlet and exhaust apertures. The shower may operate simultaneously with the inlet and exhaust fans. The inlet aperture may be located in the ceiling, whilst the exhaust aperture may be located in the floor. A filter unit may remove particulates such as asbestos from the shower chamber. The decontamination unit may include containment and clean chambers connected to the shower chamber.
