A parcel depository 1 is provided comprising a housing 2 having an access point 8 for receipt of a parcel 8 and a secure space 12 from which a delivered parcel 9 can only be subsequently removed from by an authorised person such as an owner of the depository 1. The depository 1 has means such as a camera 19 to identify or to take an image of a courier delivering the parcel 9, to take an image of the parcel when the parcel 9 is in the secure space 12; and to associate the images of the parcel with the courier identity, or the image of the courier. The depository 1 may be part of a larger parcel delivery system and provide a courier and or owner of the depository, with proof of delivery such as by an electronic device.
