The catch pit comprises an internal chamber 10 divided into a plurality of chamber portions 16, 18, each chamber portion having an inlet aperture and an outlet aperture of the catch pit. Wherein the inlet and outlet apertures of one of the plurality of chamber portions are different in size and/or shape to the inlet and outlet (located on walls 32 & 34) apertures of another of the plurality of chamber portions. Wherein the plurality of chamber portions are separated by a wall member 20. Wherein the apertures in one of the chamber portions can be arranged for cable connection to the catch pit, and the apertures in another of the chamber portions can be arranged for drainage connection to the catch pit.
