Window covering positional adjustment apparatus
The covering has a first rail 3, a positional adjustment mechanism 11 connected to the first rail having a spring motor unit 12 connected to a first lift cord pulley 20, the covering including a first lift cord collection mechanism 31 having a first roller 37 in the first rail. A covering material, e.g. a slatted blind, is connected to the first rail and moveable between an extended and a retracted position. A first lift cord 27, with a first end connected to the pulley, extends along the first roller and through the covering material. The roller rotates in either direction and has means, preferably a ball and groove ratchet type system (see Figs 4 or 7-10) to prevent rotation in one of the directions beyond a pre-selected number of revolutions. The spring motor provides a force sufficient to retract the cord when a user lifts a lower rail 5, and capable of being overcome when a user pulls on the rail 5. Further movement of the cord along the roller after rotation is prevented increases tension in the cord to aid functioning of the spring motor.
