Anti-barricade device
An anti-barricade system comprises an anti-barricade device 103, a door (101 fig 1) and a door frame 102 to which the anti-barricade device is fitted to an external surface (104 fig 1) of. The anti-barricade device comprises a hinged stop member 105 movable between a first position in which the hinged stop member restricts movement of the door in a first direction and a second position where the hinged stop member permits the door to move in the first direction. A locking mechanism (106 fig 1) maintains the hinged stop member in the first position, the locking mechanism comprises at least two securing devices 301,(302 fig 3) which may be relatedly connected to a connecting rod (601 fig 6). A releasing means (802 fig 8) moves the connecting rod to release the securing devices such that the hinged stop member is permitted to move between the first position and the second position. A method of manufacturing an anti-barricade device for a door and a method of fitting such a device to a door are also disclosed.
