Self-cleaning door cover
A push plate comprising a first/back plate 72 for mounting to a door and a second/front plate having self-cleaning material, e.g. coated or impregnated with material such as silver ions providing antimicrobial function which may also include a fragrance. Alignment features may be included such as alignment studs and recesses 722, 712; the plates may include magnets 721 and metallic strips 711 for removable attachment allowing the second plate to be changed when the antimicrobial material wears off. The front plate may include a indicator hole/window 76 to an indicator 714 which may change colour over time to indicate the condition of the antimicrobial material. Attachment of the front plate may activate the indicator 714. Also claimed is a multi-part device that mounts around an existing door handle, where at least one of the parts includes a coating/impregnation of self-cleaning material. The device may include a two part outer casing with separate inner layers gripping material.
