A security fencing assembly 10 including a plurality of spaced ground engaging posts 12, a plurality of cross bars 18 extending between adjacent posts 12 and a plurality of elongate pale assemblies 20 which extend vertically between the posts 12 to provide a barrier. The pale assemblies 20 are mounted to the front side of the cross bars 18 by a plurality of fastening means. Each pale assembly 20 contains an outer elongate W profile pale member 22 with the base of the W facing to the front, and an inner elongate W profile pale member 24 which is a sliding fit within the outer pale member 22.
