A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
A latch 100 comprises an end cap 105, a portion 125 of which is engaged by a cam surface 130 on a body 110 such that rotation of the portion 125 is translated into linear movement of the body 110. In the equilibrium position of the latch 100, a catch 132 of the body 110 is in an engaged position. A holder 120 receives the body 110 and has an abutment 140 accepting a spring 115 to bias the body 110 outward. When the end cap 105 is rotated, first and second surfaces of the cap 105 and casing 120 or a tab 155 and aperture 160 of the cap 105 and housing 120 may engage one another. Also disclosed are an enclosure such as a drawer incorporating the latch 100, an enclosure body and a handle coupled to the latch 100 at the end cap 105, and a method of opening this enclosure.
