Traffic information sign
A traffic information sign comprises a first visual indicator formed from a number of separate light sources and a second visual indicator with a variable message sign. The light sources of the first visual indicator are arranged in a pattern that allows for forming an illuminated X, or arrows pointing diagonally in either direction. The light sources may be differently coloured. The second visual indicator comprises a first and a second panel. The first panel is provided with insignia on both surfaces and is hinged so that it is movable between a first position wherein a first surface is visible, and a second position wherein a second surface is visible. The second panel has indicia which is covered when the first panel is in the first position, and revealed in the second position. The second panel may also be rotatable in the plane of the panel so that the orientation of an indicia on the panel, e.g. an arrow, can be altered. Motors may be provided for moving the panels and they may be remotely controlled. The sign may be fixed to the rear of a vehicle to warn traffic.
