A ladder stabiliser is provided for use with a ladder comprising two stiles positioned against a wall. The ladder stabiliser has a longitudinal body 10 and two feet 26, 28. It optionally has two brackets 12 that are rotatably mountable on the longitudinal body and are each adapted for engagement with a ladder stile. The stabilizer is arranged such that, in use, the feet 26, 28 are located at points outboard of the ladder stiles and the ladder stiles are not in contact with the ground. The feet may be triangular or square, and may be rotatable. The longitudinal member may be dimensioned to slidably fit through a hollow rung in a ladder. Also provided are a kit of parts and a method.
