Anti-Ligature Alarm
An anti-ligature alarm device comprises a sensing unit 201 for detecting an external force and transmitting an alarm condition signal, the sensing unit 201 comprising a controller 205, a power source 203 (i.e. batteries 206), and a boost module to maintain a voltage input from the power source 203 to the controller 205. The alarm device further comprises a control unit wirelessly paired to the sensing unit 201 for receiving the alarm condition signal. The sensing unit 201 may be fitted to a door 201, and the control unit located remote to the door 201. A pairing device may be provided to pair the sensing unit 201 and the control unit, wherein the pairing device activates a visual indicator on the sensing unit 201. Sensing unit 201 may further comprise a debounce circuit, a sealed microswitch, and/or a sprung member with a T-shaped cross-section which rolls in response to the external force. The control unit may transmit an alarm condition signal to an electronic device, and/or the device may comprise a plurality of sensing units 201 paired with a single control unit, or each control unit of a plurality of anti-ligature alarm devices may be networked to a central alarm.
