The drive assembly includes a drive component 20, 30 to drivably engage a carrier tube 2, a rod 22 which is held stationary by an external fixing 4 in use, the drive component being rotatable relative to the rod, a torsion element 21 to create a rotational force between the rod and the drive component, the assembly also comprises latching means 31, 32, 33, 35 to prevent the drive component from rotating relative to the rod. The latching means may comprise mutually engageable first 31 and second 32 latching elements with the first latching element being non-rotatable relative to the drive component and the second latching element being non-rotatable relative to the rod. The latching means may also comprise a spring element 33 which urges the second latching element into engagement with the first latching element. Also discloses is a roller blind comprising a blind wound on the carrier tube and the drive assembly as mentioned.
