Cubicle having emergency access
A cubicle comprising: a structural frame; a door 30 with a stop member 40 coupled to it which is movable between a normal use configuration preventing pivotal movement of the door and an emergency use configuration in which the door is free to pivot outwards from the closed position. Preferably the stop member 40 abuts a pilaster 20 and is pivotally mounted to the door within a recess 36 into which it retracts in the emergency condition. The stop member may be biased into the normal use configuration and run the entire length of the door blocking a line of sight between the door and pilaster. The stop member may be moved via a lever (Fig 3, 4) located at the bottom of the door. The door may include a lock which is operable from inside and outside the cubicle. The hinge of the door may be convex and the adjacent pilaster concave. A method of constructing the cubicle is also disclosed.
