Tuning method fortuned circuits for a RFID reader
A method of tuning a tuned circuit for a pet product (for example, a pet door such as a cat flap or dog flap) for reading an RFID carried by a pet, where the antenna frequency is made equal to the resonant frequency when the circuit is located in air, then detuning the circuit by a set amount until the final tuning is substantially at the point where the sensing distance for air and sensing distance for metal are equal. The antenna frequency is made equal to the resonant frequency when the circuit is located in metal, then over tuned the circuit by a set amount until the final tuning substantially at the point where the sensing distance for air and sensing distance for metal are equal. The circuit may also be manually adjustable.
