A telecoms kiosk comprises an upright body 10 having first and second major faces 12, 14 and an edge face 16, 18 located between the first and second major faces. At least one of the first and second faces is suitable for displaying promotional material. An interactive display, e.g. touchscreen 32 or touch panel 55, is also located at one of the major or edge faces to allow direct user interaction with information appearing on the display. A telephone is located on the edge face, e.g. in the form of a telephone handset 58. The telephone kiosk may also be provided with solar panels 38, 40 which also provide shelter, and the panels may be movable between a retracted (Fig. 3) and extended configuration. The kiosk may also compirse lighting elements 42, 44, a pollution sensor, weather sensor, wifi, small cell radio access, a speaker 52, headphone cable connecter, microphone, USB ports, lockable containers 62, a camera and an electric vehicle charging unit.
