A water supply outlet assembly 10, for example in the form of a tap or shower head, includes a body 12 through which water can pass to an outlet 24. The assembly also includes a mounting arrangement in the body for an anti-microbial filter cartridge 30 such that water passing through the body passes through the filter cartridge. At least part of the body through which water passes immediately before exiting the body through the outlet is made of a material which can be repeatedly sterilised, for example a metal, e.g. brass, or plastics material. The mounting arrangement may comprise a chamber 22 profiled to receive and retain the filter cartridge in position. A holder for retaining the filter cartridge may be connected to, or integral with, a connection fitting for the assembly which connects the assembly to a water supply. A seal, such as an o-ring 34, can be provided around a proximal end of the filter cartridge.
