Underground utilities enclosures
The present invention relates broadly to a communications network of underground utilities enclosures (10) comprising a plurality of underground utilities enclosures (12) arranged to remotely communicate with a remote computer (14) for monitoring the detected condition or state of each of the enclosures (12). The utilities enclosures are in the form of pit and pipe enclosures comprising a housing (22) together with an associated lid assembly (24). The lid assembly (24) comprises a lid (28) and one or more detectors (30) associated with the lid (28). The remote computer (14) communicates remotely with the pit and pipe enclosures (12) via the internet, World Wide Web, or cloud (private or public) generally depicted at (16) and referred to as a remote communications network. The remote communications network (16) is operatively coupled to local transceivers (18) which communicate with the pit and pipe enclosures (12) across a local communications pathway (19).
