Structural insulated panel
The structural member 10 comprises two structural insulated panel (SIP) layers 16, 20 each comprising one or more SIPs. The structural member includes a resin seal layer 18 to provide a seal and connect the two SIP layers together. Each structural member is substantially free from air cavities. Also claimed is a method of making the panel by: providing two SIPs and a resin seal layer; applying suction to the components to remove air cavities and curing the resin seal layer to form the structural members. The resin seal layer may comprise one or more layers to encapsulate each SIP panel. The SIP layers may be offset so that the join between adjacent panels on a layer is not aligned with the join between adjacent panels on the other layer.
