Flange anchor
A flange anchor 10 comprising an elongate hollow body 12 with an opening 14 at one end of the body, a flange 16 connected to the body adjacent the opening and extending away from the body, and a plurality of anchoring barbs 18 connected to the exterior of the body 12 and projecting out from the body 12. There may be a plurality of elongate ribs 22 on the interior of the elongate hollow body for receiving and securing a bolt (26, Fig. 5) with an aperture (28) for receiving barrier leg. The anchor may be a single molded resilient and/or elastic plastic, e.g. rubber. There may be a cone 20 at the end opposite the opening for guiding the anchor into a hole. The body may be a hollow cylinder with a tapering internal diameter. Also claimed is a method of installing the anchoring in a hole. The anchor does not require resin. The rubber material absorbs shocks and is used for installing protection barriers in supermarkets and warehouses to prevent damage from e.g. trolley crashes.
