Integrated locking mechanism for watch or similar style strap
A locking device for a wrist/leg worn device comprising a receiver unit 1 defining a cavity which has a locking edge 6. The locking edge is preferably bevelled. A lock unit 15 comprises a lock bar 17 which is received in the cavity via a slot (5, fig. 1). Once the lock bar is received within the cavity it engages the locking edge 6 to lock the receiver unit and the lock unit together. The lock bar 17 may be biased into engagement with the locking edge 6 by a spring. A key may be required to unlock the receiver unit and the lock unit. Preferably a cylinder type lock (18, fig.26) is located in a lock holder, and is key-operable to disengage the lock bar 17 from the locking edge 6. An extension (25, fig 14) of the lock bar may be moved by the lock to disengage the locking bar from the locking edge. The device may have steel cables (31, fig.26) running through the straps to make it difficult to cut. It may comprise GPS a tracking module located in a watch.
