Fire curtain and fire-proofing system
A fire curtain 10 comprises a sheet of fire-resistant material 11 having at least one side edges 13, a first face, a second face and a retaining member (12, figure 3) at the side edge of the sheet. The retaining member consists of a single sheet of flexible fire-resistant material folded over the side edge that extends inwardly from the side edge of the sheet over the first face and the second face. The retaining member is attached to the first face 15 along a seam line 14 and to the second face 16 along line 14, the first and second lines each being adjacent to the side edges of sheet such that unattached portions of the retaining member extend inwardly over the first and second faces from the seam line. The retaining member allows the fire curtain to be retained in a cooperatively formed side guide 20. The present invention also provides a fire-proofing system consisting of the fire curtain of the present invention and at least one cooperatively formed side guide and top box (40, figure 6).
