A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
The interlocking metal decking or flooring panel 5 comprises an interlocking system configured to interlock with the interlocking system of another of the panels, and one or more elastomeric members 60, 70 for engaging the other of the panels when the panels are interlocked together. The panel may comprise a tread board 15 having an anti-slip tread surface 30. The panel may have first and second interlocking mechanisms 20, 25 on opposite sides of the panel. The first interlocking mechanism may comprise a first section extending away from the tread board, a second section extending away from the first section laterally with respect to the tread board, and a third section extending from the second section towards the tread board to form a hook having a U-shaped profile defining a gutter. An elastomeric member may be mounted on a free end of the third section. The second interlocking mechanism may extend from an intermediate part of the tread board and comprise an elastomeric member. An underside of the tread board may comprise protrusions to locate the distal end of the first interlocking mechanism between them. The panels may be aluminium. The elastomeric members are polymeric resiliently deformable seal gaskets.
