Fence-post system and methods relating thereto
A fence-post system 10 comprising a first fence post 12 and a second fence post 14 which have front 16 and 22, and rear 18 and 24 flanges. The two posts in the system are defined by a first ratio, which is the ratio of the front FW1 and rear RW1 flange widths of the first post, compared to a second ratio, which is the ratio of the front FW2 and rear RW1 flange of the second post and where the first and second ratios are different. The first ratio may be between 1:1 ad 1.4:1 and the second ratio may be between 2.4:1 and 2.8:1. The front or rear flanges may have fastener-receiving apertures, which may be circular holes (32a figure 2) and elongate slots (32b figure 2) arranged in a line. The front flanges may be double layered, and the rear flanges may be single layered. The first and second posts may be made of folded metal which may be steel. The posts made be formed of a sheet material which is of a different thickness for each post T1 and T2. Fence post systems where each post may have a double layer central web 20 and 26, and the first and second posts are made from similar or identical materials having similar or identical linear mass densities are also claimed.
