A sliding door assembly of a vehicle comprises a door 6 mounted by hinge 32 to frame of vehicle, preferably by an articulated hinge with first curved hinge arm 36 and second arm 44. A first guide track 80 mounted to the frame within door aperture and first guide arm 82 mounted to the door. A second guide track 90 mounted to the frame within the door aperture and a second guide arm 92 mounted to the door a position rearward of the first guide arm such that second guide arm is offset to the rear of the vehicle. The guide tracks may be fitted to upper or lower edge of the door frame. Preferably the guide tracks have a curved section with the radius of curvature of the first guide track is greater than the second guide track curved portion. The guide tracks may be concealed from external view.
