A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Bicycle shelter
The shelter comprises a structural frame 12 including a rear member 30 and a front member 26 defining an opening for a bicycle. A cover (18, figure 1) having a higher longitudinal than transverse stiffness extends between the front and rear members. The frame may comprise a further, intermediate member 28 and/or a longitudinal beam spacing front and rear members. There may be a longitudinal track or rail 24 to guide a bicycle wheel within the shelter, optionally with a caddie which moves along the track holding the wheel. There may be rear 16 and front 14 end panels, the latter optionally with integral hinge 76. One or both end panels may comprise vertical slots 66,70 for the wheel. The front and rear members may have equal lengths at their bases and diverge upwards. The front member may be wider than the rear. The frame and/or cover may comprise corrugated polypropylene sheet.
