Cubicle Lock and Hinge
A locking mechanism 100 for a door assembly 110 comprising a movable locking portion 120 having a first, a second and an intermediate position between the first and second, a stop portion 140 configured to block movement of the locking portion from the intermediate to the second position when engaged, and an emergency release 160 configured to disengage the stop portion. The locking mechanism allows the door to be locked and unlocked in normal use, and to be opened outwards in an emergency. Preferably the locking portion comprises a tongue 126 having a vertical axis of rotation, and the emergency release comprises a pullcord 166. Further disclosed is a hinge mechanism (200, fig 7) comprising a first and a second hinge portion (210, 220 fig 7) pivotable relative to one another and a damper (228, fig 7), wherein the first portion comprises an eccentric cam surface (218, fig 7) and the second portion comprises the damper, wherein the damper rises upon the cam surface as the portions pivot.
