Handwashing system
A handwashing system 1 including an outlet (93 figure 5a) for dispensing liquid, a collector (19 figure 2a) for collecting liquid from the outlet (93 figure 5a) and a recirculation loop for providing liquid collected by the collector (19 figure 2a) to the outlet (93 figure 5a) for dispensing at the outlet (93 figure 5a). The recirculation loop having a filtering means 27 for filtering the liquid collected by the collector (19 figure 2a) prior to dispensing it at the outlet (93 figure 5a) and a hand pump (31 figure 3) for pumping the liquid to the outlet (93 figure 5a). The handwashing system 1 further having a disinfecting means (97 figure 3) for disinfecting the liquid collected by the collector (19 figure 2a). One embodiment relates to a pumping system for hand pumping liquid from a reservoir characterised by a lever, a filter and a scrubbing apparatus connected by a connecting rod to the lever. A further embodiment has a lever, a generator for generating electrical power and linking means linking the lever and generator.
