A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
A yard scraper 1 comprises a frame 10 and a connector 20 for connecting the frame to a vehicle. The frame comprises a first blade extending downwardly from the frame to, in use, be scraped across the ground and wherein the frame comprises sidewalls 12 between which the first blade is located. The sidewalls are movable relative to the frame by couplings that comprise a sidewall front coupler 100 and a sidewall rear coupler 110. The movable sidewalls allow for inclinations in the scraped surface or changes in angle of the connector that stem from vehicle movement to be accounted for. The sidewalls may be left and right sidewalls that move independently to each other, and the couplers may allow for a degree of forward or rearward movement between the connector and the respective sidewall. The coupler 100 may comprise a boss extending from a frame member which supports and inward face of the sidewall around the front sidewall coupler, wherein the boss extends through a slot in the sidewall. The movement between both sidewalls and associated connector may be limited by a stop for each sidewall, the stops located away from the sidewall couplers.
