Offshore wind turbine assembly
A tower 2 for an offshore wind turbine assembly comprises a tubular support member 5 for mounting on a monopile foundation 3, and a flange 6 at an end of said tubular support member. The flange comprises a first, radially inwardly directed portion 7 for attachment of the tower to the foundation, and a second portion 8 which extends radially outwards beyond the foundation and preferably over an external working platform 4 received on the foundation to restrict upward movement thereof. Before mounting the tower on the foundation, a component (15, figure 4) may be used to restrict upward movement of the platform. The component comprises a ring (16, figure 4) including a radially outwardly extending flange (17, figure 4) which facilitates attachment to the foundation, and which extends beyond the foundation to restrict upward movement of the platform.
