Modular canopy system and method of assembly
A modular canopy system 10 for installation on a vertical surface comprises a centre plate 12 comprising a canopy surface 16 a first substantially planar securing surface 20 extending at an acute angle from the canopy surface, wherein the canopy surface and the securing surface define a first securing portion 22 at a first end of the canopy surface and a second securing portion 24 at an opposing second end of the canopy surface. The system further comprises first 14 and second 14’ securing plates, each securing plate comprising a planar surface 26, a canopy engagement portion extending from the planar surface defining a receiving slot for receiving at least a portion of a respective first or second securing portion therein, and a second substantially planar securing surface 32 extending from the planar surface at an acute angle relative to the canopy engagement portion. The first and second securing portions are receivable within the receiving slots of respective first and second securing plates such that the first and second securing surfaces extend along a common plane. The canopy surface may be square, rectangular and/or have a curved edge. The first and second securing surfaces may be provided with adhesive tape. The centre plate may comprise a rigid material. Also disclosed herein is a method of assembling the described canopy.
