A hinge wing and extruded member
The hinge wing 12 for engagement with a channel (Figure 2, 60) in an extruded member (Figure 2, 50) comprising: a unitarily formed body including: a faceplate 14; a retaining means 18 for being received in and for engaging with the channel of the extruded 5 member, the retaining means having first and second retaining arms 20,22 connected at a connection post 24 and extending from one another. A screw threaded locking means 38,39 for pushing and for holding the first and second retaining arms 20,22 in a fixed position against walls 10 (Figure 3, 68, 70) of the channel of the extruded member. Also claimed is an extruded member for a window or door frame comprising a channel disposed in the extruded member, the channel including a base wall and walls extending from the base wall and orthogonal locking walls, wherein one of the extending walls has a curved portion to allow a hinge wing to rotate into the extruded portion. Also claimed are a kit for making a hinge with two hinge wings and a hinge and a method of coupling the hinge wing to the extruded member.
