A hand rail comprising an elongate handle and an attachment portion, the handle being connected to the attachment portion by a continuous connecting web that extends from a first end of the hand rail to a second end of the hand rail to define an elongate channel between the handle and the attachment portion, the channel being open at the first end of the handle and closed at the second end of the handle; wherein a base of the channel is sloped relative to the handle such that liquid drains out of the channel when the handle is in a horizontal orientation.
