Adjustable pedestal
Herein disclosed is a height adjustable pedestal 101 comprising a support component having a base portion 103 and a pair of vertically oriented upstands 106 arranged to receive a floor support (118 fig.4a) therebetween. The upstands are further arranged to receive a shim 114 such that the shim is supported by the support component and constrained from lateral displacement. In use the shim is placed between a lower surface of the floor support and the base portion of the support component to adjust the height if the floor support. The upstands may have a slot 110 to constrain the shim. The top portion of the shim may comprise a slope. The support component may comprise a plate, with apertures 204 to receive the upstands of multiple stacked plates. The plate may comprise an upstanding circumferential rim and holes 224 to facilitate water drainage. The floor support may be a joist 118 or paving slab 218. The pedestal and shim may comprise non-combustible materials
