A Door Handle Arrangement
A door handle arrangement comprising a first door handle and second door handle for use on either side of a door, a spindle 4 connecting the first and second door handles, wherein one of the first or second door handle comprises a spindle lock 21 movable between a stowed position in which the spindle is free to rotate and an engaged position in which the spindle lock prevents rotation of the spindle, wherein the spindle lock is configured to move between the stowed position and engaged position upon removal of the second door handle from the door. The spindle lock may comprise a plate 21 with an aperture 34 in which the spindle or a spindle collar 25 sits. The plate 21 may slide, e.g. under gravity, such that the spindle moves from a rotating, circular, portion 23 to a second portion 24 where it cannot rotate (e.g. parallelogram slot and a square spindle). The spindle may be biased (spring 35) such that is slides axially upon removal of the second handle presenting a different cross section to the plate. Also claimed is a lock with an elongate slot for receiving the key cylinder (fig 9-11).
